Through our Quality Program, we keep track of selected indicators in order to ensure that every patient receives care that meets or exceeds the industry standard.
The tables show our percentage of compliance with patient care best practices standard. (i.e., A score of 91% means we were compliant with patient care best practices 91% of the time.)
Measures for Heart Attack Diagnosis
Indicators:
Aspirin at Arrival- Aspirin can help keep blood clots from forming and dissolve blood clots that can cause heart attacks. This measure shows the percent of heart attack patients who were given aspirin upon arrival at the hospital.
EKG within 10 Minutes of Arrival- The electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) is a diagnostic tool that measures and records the heart rythyms in detail. Interpretaiton of these details allows diagnosis of a wide range of heart conditions. These conditions can vary from minor to life-threatening.
Measures for Pneumonia Diagnosis
Indicators:
Oxygenation Assessment- Having enough oxygen in your blood is important to your health. This measure shows the percentage of pneumonia patients who receive an oxygenation assessment within 24 hours of arrival.
Blood Cultures Performed Before First Antibiotic Received- A blood culture tells what kind of medicine will work best to treat patient's pneumonia. This measure shows the percent of pneumonia patients whose blood culture specimen was collected prior to the first dose of hospital antibiotics.
