renee-dunhamRenée Jensen - Chief Executive Officer

Renée Jensen is the Chief Executive Officer of Mark Reed Health Care District. Prior to her tenure at Mark Reed, Renée served as an Associate Administrator and Director of Quality Improvement for Columbia County Health System in Dayton, Washington. While in Dayton, she also worked as their Laboratory Manager and earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration. She previously received certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist from the School of Medical Technology at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA and her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Eastern Washington University. In addition to serving as a Board Member for CHOICE, Renée is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a Board Member for the Washington State Hospital Association Rural Hospital Committee, the Western Washington Rural Health Care Collaborative (WWRHCC) and the Elma High School Vocational Advisory Board. She also serves as President for the Elma Chamber of Commerce and is a member of both the East Grays Harbor Sentential Rotary Club and the Mark Reed Hospital Foundation.

Renée actively participates in lobbying efforts in Olympia and Washington, D.C. to ensure that rural hospitals and important healthcare issues have a voice at the policy level. In her personal time, Renée enjoys equestrian sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family in Monroe, WA where she grew up.

 

Hurley155Dr. William Hurley - Chief Medical Officer

Dr. William Hurley is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology. He is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT), Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), and Fellow and member of the Washington Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He completed his medical training at the University of Colorado in 1985, residency in Emergency Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center in 1988, and fellowship in Medical Toxicology at the San Francisco Poison Center in 1991. In addition to being a full-time member of our Emergency Department, he is also the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of the Emergency Department of Mark Reed Hospital, Medical Director of the Washington Poison Center, Emergency Medicine Faculty at Harborview Medical Center, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Emergency Medicine) at the University of Washington.  His special interests include medical team training, Emergency Medicine care planning, poisoning and overdose management, and clinical and educational research. When not practicing or teaching medicine he enjoys running, paddle-boarding, windsurfing, flying, snowboarding, travelling, and visiting his three grown children in California. He lives in Olympia with Karen, his wife of 30 years.

 

Brenda-West Brenda West - Chief Nursing Officer

Brenda comes to Mark Reed with over 25 years of experience in healthcare.  Her most recent positions include Clinical Manager for Southwest Washington Medical Center, as well as her tenure at Providence Health and Services as a Six Sigma Black Belt.  Brenda brings extensive management expertise in many aspects of hospital operations such as critical care, cardiac and medical/surgical nursing.

Brenda earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA before earning her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of London in England. She also holds an MBA from the University of Saint Francis, Joliet, IL.  Brenda shares her life with her husband Al, of 13 years and their four cats. 

 

ron-hulscherRon Hulscher - Chief Financial Officer

Ron began his hospital work at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen. He worked for the Dominican Sisters in both Aberdeen and Chehalis for 14 years and for the Providence Sisters in Aberdeen, Centralia/Chehalis and Olympia for 20 years until his retirement at the end of 2003. Ron functioned as Finance Director/C.F.O. for nearly all of these years. He also was administratively over clinics, chemical dependency programs, plant maintenance, housekeeping, volunteers, medical records, business office and purchasing/materials management. In 2007, Ron assisted Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach Oregon as interim C.F.O. Ron began his interaction with the Mark Reed Health Care District in 2008 and now serves as the District’s Chief Financial Officer. Ron volunteers for several organizations primarily handling financial and reporting requirements.
